Predictive Energy Management 96 Hours Ahead
Unlike standard energy management systems that work on real-time (or near real-time) electricity price points, our E2M® technology is predictive. Decision makers receive continuing automated recommendations up to 96 hours ahead of time. Each recommendation provides an operational scenario brief, preferred options, approximate savings and further detail to help assist with managing activity around peak demand constraints and costs.
Plan Ahead for Uninterrupted Production
This predictive approach allows for planned decision making, rather than the somewhat reactive decision making that occurs with standard real-time energy management systems. Real-time decisions tend to cause un-planned production interruption and disrupt efficient operations. Typically, real-time systems just trigger pre-determined loads to shed when electricity supply price is high. Load shedding commands like this are the source of restart delays, cause product waste, distract human resources and contribute to the pre-mature failure of equipment. With our predictive technology, these issues can be avoided.
With our E2M® technology, value is achieved by predicting the electricity demands of the production loads then adjusting or coordinating production plans, maintenance plans and outages where ideal economic benefits are automatically identified with regard to predicted electricity supply pricing.
Future Proofing Energy Demand & Supply
The Wholesale Electricity spot price will continue to increase in specific regions due to the coincident effects of closing fossil fuel power stations, increased ‘swinging loads’ of the large industrials, and higher dependence on wind generation due to COP21 outcomes. Early adopters of our E2M® technology are experiencing tremendous results. WA’s largest utility, state-owned Synergy Electricity Generation and Retail Corporation, has outsourced its whole Demand Response portfolio and Tier 1 industrial energy efficiency management to Metro Power’s E2M-enabled services. The services have been delivering new revenues to their end-users and wholesale divisions of over AUD$10M per annum.
Improving Situational Awareness of Energy Use and Costs
Dashboards are provisioned in the online system for situational awareness of electricity demand and production flows so one tools can be used by the Operations Control team when they are making decisions related to production vs. electricity.
